Adena S. Muncey, MAc., E-RYT 200, YACEP

 

Adena’s love of yoga started at a young age when she started practicing 25 years ago at a local gym. Throughout the years, Adena tried many styles of yoga including Sivananda, Classical Ashtanga, Bikram and Jivamukti. She fell in love with Power Vinyasa yoga for its creativity, flow and ever changing nature. Adena started teaching in 2001 while getting her undergraduate degree at The George Washington University in Exercise Science. Adena continued to teach through her Master’s program in Acupuncture from The New England School of Acupuncture. She received her yoga teacher certification through the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica and Ashtanga Primary through David Swenson. Adena co-designed and wrote a 200 HR Yoga Alliance registered teacher training course. In 2012, rateyourburn.com named Adena one of Boston's Best Teachers.

 

While living in Hyderabad, India with her family from 2017-2021, Adena taught various workshops and led several Yoga Alliance continuing ed courses to local and foreign students and teachers, gaining international experience with an even broader range of students. 

Adena currently teaches public classes, as well as private students and online classes. She enjoys teaching all levels. and with her knowledge of exercise science, can adapt her programs to meet students needs.

Through her expertise, knowledge and experience, Adena has developed a style of yoga that combines mobility, strength, endurance and fun. Her ever-changing flow will make you stronger, more agile and help you to feel more comfortable in your body. Functional yoga is all levels and will compliment and enhance your life.
